The Denmark Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the historical documents, photos, artifacts, and the heritage of Denmark.
Denmark, Maine was formed from a grant made by Massachusetts in 1787. The first settlements were made in 1788, and several current Denmark families trace their roots back to those early settlers.
The Town of Denmark was incorporated on February 20, 1807.
